Hi there, welcome to my computer page:
I have been into computers for some time now, since about
1980 when I had a Tandy TRS80 with green screen monitor and disk
drives, I think it had the lower case mod as well, but it's a
bit hazy is the old memory now, some more RAM needed huh?
I bought a BBC micro, it was a converted model A, sold as
a model B but it did the job. I used it to learn how to program
basic and playing games of course. Then I started doing video's
and needed a titling machine. I tried with the Beeb but it was
not brilliant, I did a mod to convert the mono composite video
output to colour, but the output was not up to much.
Then I bought a Commadore Amiga, what an absolutely brilliant
machine that was for it's day. It is just a shame that the commercial
users of computers thought of it as just a toy. But that's the
way of the world, nobody ever got fired for buying "a big
blue".
Now that I am studying I needed a PC so I bought one, a Compaq,
but it was not expandable enough. I needed other twiddly bits
like frame grabbers, a scanner Oodles of disk space so now I
build my own. It's a doddle.
My latest started out as a TIME computers machine, it has
had 2 motherboards just to get it into some sort of shape. Not
Times fault, I hasten to add, the machine they sold me was fine,
but I out grew it pretty quickly. I realy ought to get a 800MHz
P3 instead of the 450 MHz P2 I have right now.
